I can’t believe that it’s December already. It feelsl ike it was all nice and warm up until a few days ago, but now the cold onslaught of winter is upon us. Many of you are likely busy as we approach the end of 2021, but make sure to take good care of yourselves.

Let’s dive right into the version update!

I’ll start off this month with The Voracious Resurgence.
The Far East Chapter of the story draws to a close, and I know that many of you are wondering just what lies in store for Gessho and Reikuu. Of course, the end of the latest chapter means more peculiar foes to vanquish via Records of Eminence. These are monthly objectives—just like the previous entries—and you can earn capacity points and Silver A.M.A.N. vouchers for successful completion. Don’t miss out!

Next up is Ambuscade.
The moogles are back for more in Intense Ambuscades, while Normal features the appearance of evil weapons. The evil weapon battle contains a main threat—who appears to be under something’s thrall—and a bunch of evil weapons that are summoned to rain havoc down upon you. Of course, defeating the main threat is the key to securing victory, but each of its helpers that you defeat will make it easier to damage the big baddie, so I recommend you clean up the little ones first.

A special golden bomb might just make an appearance as well, so keep your eyes peeled!

Next up, as part of the addition of the Master Level system released last month, we’ve got some more monster spawn adjustments in certain areas coming down the pipeline as well.

We’ve also read your comments that alliance mercenaries were making it difficult for solo and small group players to effectively participate in the Master Level system, so we’ve imposed large penalties to experience point, limit point, capacity point, and exemplar point gains yielded from certain monsters—including Apex monsters—for players who are in an alliance of seven or more players. We are aware that this may also slightly impact non-mercenary players as well, and we are prepared to take further action in future version updates should these adjustments fail to hit the mark. We welcome your feedback in this matter.

This month’s WE ARE VANA’DIEL update features an interview series with Akitoshi Kawazu, General Director for the SaGa Franchise. Kawazu-san shared with us some stories from before even Kitase-san and I joined Square, and there were in fact many things that I was just hearing for the first time. Please take a look at the interview if you have the opportunity to do so!
