Thread: Ask Questions for the Lore Panel at the Las Vegas Fan Festival!

Greetings!

The Las Vegas Fan Festival will play host to a special panel dedicated to all things lore in Eorzea! World lore co-creator Michael-Christopher Koji Fox will be on hand to lift the veil on a variety of topics, including story, characters and what goes into building the lore of such an expansive world! He'll also be dedicating a portion of the panel to answering burning queries regarding lore and localization, so add your questions below!

In this thread we'd like you to specifically pose questions regarding lore and localization.

Lore-wise, how do you explain the large quantity of hovering monsters? How do they do it?
(pugil, jellyfish, etc.)

Why are the Allagan so huge?
(Xande, Amon, etc.)

I've noticed in the dialogue from various (English) cut scenes that there's a heavy implication that our characters aren't from Eorzea at all. That we'd never set foot there before deciding for whatever inexplicable reason to travel to one of the city-states and begin our adventures.

Is that intentional? If so, then is there an area we should be hailing from? Or is that meant to show we're just not from the city-states, but everywhere else is fair game?

Because personally, it would be kind of nice if I could register a hometown (inside or outside the city-states doesn't matter) and not be treated like a complete stranger when I go there.

1. Any chance our toons can swap allegiance from the Eorzean Alliance to Garlean Empire in the future? And if possible, can we obtain magitek armor suits pls?

2. Since Zodiarc's form seemed to be an amalgamation of all primals. is it capable of draining aether from Hydaelyn's life stream? And is the purple "Father" Hydaelyn is "Mother" Hydaelyn's "alter ego"or vice versa?

3. Since the Allagans have build spaceships, are there any surviving Allagans colonizing other planets? The lame violent earthquake catastrophe from ST storyline doesn't cut it!

4. How do you explain how Allagan royal bloodline intermingled with multiple races? Xande is Roe with "mutant ears", Unei and Doga are Hyur, and that G'raha Ti is a Miqote. Is this a definite proof of how different races in FF14 can breed with each other in the past? If so, where's the freaking half breeds? Is that eccentric aesthitician an Elezen-Hyur halfbreed?

5. Every single JRPG including FF series ALWAYS showed visitable main character's starting village or town, which is non existant in FF14? Where did our playable "Warriors of Light" came from?

6. Any chance Nanamo snapped out and fight back like a true monarch worth his/her crown would do?

7. Lastly, can we have a COMPLETE WORLD MAP instead of a tiny sub continent Eorzea and a bit of the Garlean Empire mainland pls?
