        • Completion of the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Chapter 1 mission Ring My Bell.
          * The mission may not be available depending on the character's progress in the Chains of Promathia missions.
          * Registration of the Rise of the Zilart, Treasures of Aht Urhgan, and Wings of the Goddess expansion disks are required to make further mission progress.
    • Certain key items obtainable through the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Chapter 2 missions will make adventuring in Vana'diel even easier than before.

      Escha – Ru'Aun will become available to players through the progression of Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, and contains foes and notorious monsters even more fearsome than those found in Escha - Zi'tah. Escha – Ru'aun serves not only as a stage for Rhapsodies of Vana'diel to play out, but also a place for players to participate in battle content such as Geas Fete and engage in more peaceful activities such as fishing and gathering.
      • Escha Silt
        Escha silt can be earned from vanquishing regular and notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun and can be used in the following ways.
        Teleportation in Escha areas /
        Purchasing of beneficial effects active in Escha areas /
        Purchasing of temporary items usable in Escha areas /
        Purchasing of key items and augments specific equipment
      • Escha Beads
        Escha beads can be earned from vanquishing notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun and can be exchanged for materials used to augment equipment.
      • Vorseals
        Players will be able to purchase new types of vorseals by vanquishing notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun. These new vorseals may be used in both Escha areas, and may be activated by speaking with Dremi in Escha – Ru'Aun (H-11) in exchange for escha silt. Vorseals will activate upon entering Escha – Ru'Aun and last for a total of sixty minutes (Earth time)
        * Escha silt payments are only required upon first receiving the vorseal. No silt is consumed upon activation.
        * Once sixty minutes has passed, players may reactivate the vorseals by changing areas and then returning.
      • Transporation Via Eschan Portals
        Examining the ??? targets that appear throughout Escha – Ru'Aun will provide players with a temporary item known as an eschan droplet*.
        Eschan droplets can be used to teleport players from eschan portals one through fifteen in numerical order. Once an eschan portal has been examined, players may be teleport to it at any time for an eschan silt fee.
        * Players may only possess one eschan droplet at a time.
    • A new quests, A Barrel of Laughs, has been added.

      Cross blades with memorable characters from Seekers of Adoulin in this twisted arena within the deepest recesses of Eastern Ulbuka.
      • Requirements
        • Have the FINAL FANTASY XI: Seekers of Adoulin expansion installed.
        • Have registered the Seekers of Adoulin expansion content.
        • Have completed all of the Seekers of Adoulin missions.*
          *Players must have viewed the ending scenes.
        • Must be in possession of the "Macabre Simulacrum" key item.*
          *Only characters who have completed all of the required missions can obtain this item.
          *The key item is consumed upon entering the arena. It must be re-obtained in order to fight again.
        • Must be in a party of three to six members.
      • Joining Sinister Reign
        1. Obtaining the key item
          Speak to Malobra in Ra'Kaznar Inner Court (I-8) and exchange 5,000 bayld for the Macabre Simulacrum key item.

        2. Entering the arena
          After all party members have acquired a macabre simulacrum, the party leader can send the entire party to the battle arena by inspecting the Infernal Transposer in Ra'Kaznar Inner Court.
          *If any of the party members does not possess the macabre simulacrum key item, the party will not be able to teleport to the arena.

        3. Participating in Battles
          The battle is composed of three rounds.
          Each round, a new NPC will be randomly selected and enter the ring as an opponent. A time limit of thirty minutes (Earth time) in place for the entire event.

        4. Spoils
          After the battle, speak to Malobra to collect your reward. Each participant can choose from three pieces of equipment each belonging to one of the NPCs who entered the ring, or one synthesis component.
          *Players can also choose to receive 1,000 bayld if none of the other prizes are desirable.

      Take part in dynamic raid battles with notorious monsters who only appear for limited stretches of time. Join forces with adventurers in the area to take down some of the toughest monsters Vana'diel has ever faced.
      • Requirements
        • Have reached level 99.
      • Joining the Fray
        1. Equipping yourself for battle
          During or immediately before the monster's appearance, speak to Affi in Escha - Zi'Tah (F-10) or Dremi in Escha - Ru'Aun (H-11) and obtain an "elvorseal" key item. Once the key item is obtained, it will be possible to teleport directly to the monster's location by speaking to either NPC.
          *Players who are part of a Unity will be able to see notifications of when and where a monster is scheduled to appear.

        2. Participating in Battle

          The notorious monster can only be fought within the designated area. Any number of adventurers can fight together in this non-instanced battle. The battle is won once the monster is defeated.
          *The notorious monster will appear once every three hours (Earth time).
          *After 30 minutes has elapsed, the notorious monster will disappear, but retain its current health the next time it reappears.
          *Defeating smaller monsters in the area will shorten the time required for the notorious monster to reappear.


        3. Rewards
          When the notorious monster is defeated, all characters in the battle area will earn spoils. Additionally, the area where the monster was defeated will enjoy special blessing effects.
          *Players must have at least 2 spaces free in their inventory to claim spoils.
          (At least five spaces may be required if blessings are in effect that increase the amount of loot obtainable in the area.)
    • The following additions have been made to Geas Fete.
      • New key items available in exchange for escha silt have been added.
        * These key items increase the total amount of escha silt and beads that can be carried by a character.
      • New temporary items available in exchange for escha silt have been added.
      • New vorseals available in exchange for escha silt have been added.
    • Zeni Notorious Monsters have undergone the following changes.
      • The cooldown timer for trading a trigger item with the ??? has been shortened from 3 minutes to 1 minute.
    • The Trust initiative undergone the following adjustments.
      • New alter egos have been added.
      • It will now become possible to call forth alter egos in Vagary.
      • Area of effect items now affect alter egos.
      • The following alter egos now enjoy increased enmity generation.

      • Each category's limits have been increased from 10 to 15.
      • The maximum number of points that may be stores at once has been raised from 200 to 350.

    • New methods of enhancing cursed and hexed equipment have been added.
      • Enhancing methods
        1. Synthesizing a cursed item with the appropriate ingredient* can create a more powerful version of the cursed item.
          *The necessary ingredients can be obtained through Escha - Ru'Aun's raid as well as other battle content.
        2. Trade the enhanced cursed item and appropriate abjuration* to Alphollon C Meriard in Northern San d'Oria (L-6) to remove the curse.
          *The new abjurations can be obtained through participating in Escha - Ru'Aun's Geas Fete battles.
      • I've already removed the curse, what now?
        In order to enhance equipment that has already been cleansed using this method, the cleansed equipment must have its original curse or hex restored using the synergy crucibles.
        *Only applicable equipment can be cleansed through the use of synergy.

    • Certain expansion disk data will be downloaded when updating the client.
      The following expansion disk data will be automatically downloaded to those accounts which do not have the installed due to the implementation of Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel.
      Treasures of Aht Urhgan / Wings of the Goddess
      * Completing Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel requires registration of Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasure of Aht Urhgan, and Wings of the Goddess. Installation is also required to enjoy the content accompanying these expansion disks.

      This system provides visual indication of changes in the status of the targeted party member in the form of icons when the setting is enabled.
      • Setting Via the Main Menu
        1. Select "Misc. 3" from the Config submenu.
        2. Set Party Icon Display to On.
      • Setting Via Text Command
        • Enter /statusparty on.
          * Similarly, /statusparty off will disable the option.
          * Entering /statusparty without an argument will toggle between on and off.
    • Focus targeting has been added.
      This system designates a fixed party member for which to display status effect icons.
      This function can be used in a variety of ways, such as display status changes of a party's tank or other member.
      * The name of the currently focused target can be displayed using /focusst.
      • Setting Via the Main Menu
        1. Select "Focus" from the Party submenu.
        2. Select the character you wish to focus from the displayed list of party members.
          * Alliance members and alter egos may not be focused.
          * Selecting a new party member when one is currently being focused will change the focus target to the new character.
          * Reselecting a currently focused party member will disable the focus targeting
      • Setting Via Text Command
        1. Target the character you wish to focus.
        2. Execute the /focustarget command.
          * The target can also be selected by using /focustarget without having the desire target selected.
          * Executing this command while having a different focus target will switch the focus to the new target.
          * Executing the command on a character that is already focus targeted will remove the focus.
    • The icons for the following abilities have been adjusted.

    Resolved Issues

    • Various issues with incorrect NPC dialogue and help text.
    • Issues with cut scenes playing incorrectly in certain missions and quests.
    • The issue wherein Zeid's HP falling to 0 during the first fight in the "Where Two Paths Converge" Bastok mission would prevent the fight from progressing normally.
    • The issue wherein having already completed the "The Beast Within" quest and entering the Jade Sepulcher would play a cutscene from that quest.
    • The issue where re-obtaining the rewards for the "Weatherspoon War" quest would not be possible.
    • The issue wherein cut scenes related to job-specific weapon creation would not play even though all conditions were fulfilled.
    • The issue where no fishing command was displayed in the Rala Waterways, preventing any fishing.

    • Character graphics may sometimes appear incorrectly during the "Past Imperfect" missions.
    • The "Give a Moogle a Break" quest may sometimes not trigger even when all requirements are fulfilled.
    • Treasure caskets unlocked in the following areas do not contribute to the "Crack Treasure Caskets" limited time Records of Eminence objective.

    • The following quests may occasionally not appear in the event replay list in Sauromugue Champaign (S).
      Ganged Up On / Sacrifice
    • After selecting the event replay for Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, "Both Paths Taken(pt.1)" and "Both Paths Taken(pt.2)" will not play correctly.
    • The event replay for "Numbering Days(pt.6)" will play incorrectly after playing "Numbering Days(pt.4)".
    • Cinematics will play incorrectly when using a Cavernous Maw to teleport to the following areas.

    • During colonization reives in Sih Gates, Knotted Roots may sometimes not be displayed.
    • During the Assault mission, "Stop the Bloodshed", destroying all Augmented Chigoes with a familiar's area-based attack will prevent completion of the mission.
    • In the Domain Invasion raid battle, it is possible to teleport directly to a notorious monster without an elvorseal under specific conditions.
    • Both Affi in Escha - Zi'Tah (F-10) and Dremi in Escha - Ru'Aun (H-11) will repeat their explanations of elvorseals whenever a player asks to receive one.
    • In the Geas Fete battle content, battle rights for notorious monsters will occasionally be nulled.
    • During the "Waking Dreams" battlefield and the "★Waking Dreams" high-tier mission battlefield, Diabolos's enmity levels may reset under specific conditions.
    • Arciela's Trust alter ego may cause an error message to appear when auto attack is activated while outside of attack range.
    • The HP and command list for a familiar will occasionally not appear after using "Leave" and "Call Beast" again on the same familiar while the "Run Wild" ability is still in effect.
    • Some familiars may clip with terrain while in Halvung.
    • Familiars' pathfinding may function incorrectly in the following areas.

    • Selecting a ground target with uneven elevation and placing a luopan there can cause the HP and "Luopan" visual to not display.
