FFXIV: ARR goes Gamescom

Greetings adventurers!

We know you’ve been eager for information but don’t worry - all your patience shall be rewarded! We’ve got a lot of information for you to digest so grab a seat and a cup of tea, lean back and have a good read, because it’s time for some juicy Gamescom news!

We are happy to announce that we will be sporting not one but TWO booths this year! So if you’ve got your tickets ready make sure to visit both of them as amazing loot awaits you!

Head over to Hall 9/B21, where a total of 48 game stations are just waiting for you. Take your pick between the PS4 and PC version and show off your skills in our daily changing battle challenges against Leviathan, Ramuh and Gilgamesh – and earn exclusive T-Shirts in the process!

Another must-see for every FINAL FANTASY fan will be the final showdown between Yoshi-P (Producer/Director of FFXIV) and Ichiro Hazama (Producer of THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL) which will take place at the booth on Saturday at 3 pm!

The experts among you might as well show up on our second booth, also known as “ FINAL FANTASY Battle Arena ” in Hall 9 / A51, where another 32 game stations will give you the PvP experience of your life AND let you have a go at those challenging Extreme Primals that will make your visit even more exciting!

But wait, what was that? PvP at Gamescom? Yessir, that’s correct Sir, you will be able to play in a full party of 8 players, practice your Frontline skills and get to challenge mighty opponents in a decisive battle on the Cartenau Flats. Be victorious and /need on some awesome loot!

And if you think you’ve got what it takes to be at the very top, feel free to challenge our..well…Challenge Team (also known as our lovely “Xtreme Team”), a hand picked team of our Community Ambassadors which we recruited from the FFXIV community ahead of time. Beat their gameplay time during Extreme Mode Primal Battles and /need on even more loot – if you defeat them and the Primal.

Since we know that our amazing community would never pass on an opportunity for eternal fame and glory, we asked our Moogles to wave their magical pom poms and produce a bunch of VIP tickets to make sure you get to skip the line and leave those hungry wolves behind. But hold that thought, no need to ask, we already prepared the answer!

To get your excited hands on those VIP tickets simply send us an email with your given name, your last name, the content you’d like to challenge (PvP or Extreme Primals) and a time slot of your choice and we will do our best to fulfil your wishes.

However, please be aware of the following:

Please be at the booth 15 minutes before your allocated time slot, otherwise we might give your spot to someone else.
We cannot guarantee that you will get to play using your favorite job/class
For Frontlines you will be practicing for an hour before the final battle begins.

Wednesday - Sunday
9:00 am, 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:30 pm, 6:00 pm*

Xtreme Battles

Wednesday - Sunday:
9:15 am, 10:45 am 12:15 pm, 1:45 pm, 3:15 pm, 4:45 pm, 6:15 pm*
*excl. Saturday and Sunday

But wait, that’s not all, I swear! There will also be a signing session with Yoshi-P happening on Saturday in Hall 9/A51 (FINAL FANTASY Battle Arena ) at around 6:00 pm ! We will be giving out a limited number of tickets for this beforehand. If you want to take part in the signing session, make sure to get to our booth early as we will start handing them out at our FINAL FANTASY Battle Arena first thing on Saturday morning (from 9am)!

If you want to grab some merchandise for Yoshi-P to sign, you can do so at our merchandise booth in hall 10 / D10! We can’t wait to see what unusual merchandise you hand over to Yoshi-P for him to sign this year!

And if you need to come up for air and take a break from all those battle challenges and adventures you are welcome to visit our FFXIV photo walls in the Cosplay Village in Hall 10.1!

Did you just announce the Gilgamesh EX battle to be coming soon ( when he finally use all his arms ) ?

Gilgamesh isn't a Primal though, and the only Extreme I see in the text are Extreme Primals...

I don't think that Gilgamesh will be in PvP.

Also Ultima isn't a primal and had an HM battle.

The point is, these battle events are related to new battles usually, so i can see Gilgamesh having an HM/EX/savage mode ( whatever they want to call it to say it's harder than the other version ) soon.

At two other places (maybe more) they talk about PvP and Extreme Primals. And once again, Gil is not a primal.

Also, the the PvP and Extreme is in one booth, while the "daily changing battle challenges against Leviathan, Ramuh and Gilgamesh" is in another booth.

While I do hope we get a challenging Gilgamesh eventually, I just don't see it happen all of a sudden at Gamescom

O.O I don’t think so. Neither additional legs nor additional arms or heads or other future implementations that might or might not happen =p Nope, definitely didn't announce any implementations for the game

This is correct. The battle challenges will be on one booth and will change daily. So on one day you might get to challenge Leviathan while on the next day you get to play with Ramuh etc. whereas PvP and the extreme mode primal battles will happen on the other booth.
